Company responded fairly quickly and offered me a tip to get the product out (use baking soda!!!!! - I guess anything slightly abrasive would do).

It worked.

They also refunded my money. However, if this is what it takes to get the product out, it should be supplied as part of the pack.

YUK, yuk, yuk. YUK YUK. Despite following the instructions to the letter my hair was left with an absolutely foul waxy, greasy coating which I can't wash out (seven washes and still trying). The shampoo they supplied made it worse. I ended up scraping it out with my fingernails. I think it has blocked my shower drain. Absolutely disgusting, I don't know how I am going to get rid out it. Do not buy from this site, yum, yum, I need to write 100 words so just repeating yuk till I get there, I cannot begin to describe how horrible this gunk is. foul, horrible, greasy, sticky, can't get it out of my hair. My hair looks and feels awful. yuk, yuk and yuk again,

This is what happens to me waxy and grease. So thick i can even comb it or dry it. Howver that only last a few days then after a few washes the color is beautifl!

Medium brown color is based by purple? My hair has a purple tint. If I had wanted purple hair I would have gone to a Halloween store. Can’t get my money back because I send back what I used in my hair. I would have no way of knowing about the purple tint until I used it! By far the worst product I have ever used on my hair!

( Hair color before dying was a dark golden Blonde) Everything was great with the product when I was applying it and rinsing it out. But the moment I got out of the shower I knew something was wrong with the color of my hair, it looked pure black.

I tried telling myself that maybe it just needs to dry, so I blow dry my hair and my hair is Most DEFINTLY BLACK! The color I ordered was a Dark BROWN with warm chocolate tones this color is no were even near that. I tried going out side hoping it will look better but NO ITS STILL LOOKS BLACK IN EVEN NATURAL LIGHT with the slightest hint of red that can only be seen if you really try looking but non the less IT IS BLACK NOT A BROWN SHADE! My hair was NOT porous or Ever bleached, so this color should have worked then if it was formulated the way I asked it to be.

I truly wanted to love esalon since it made my hair feel great but the color is not at all what I wanted, that’s the whole reason I wanted to try esalon was so I can actually have a color that turns out as it is described to be! My hair is just black now it makes looking like I’m lifeless and older than I really am , I truly am trying to calm myself down but every time I see my hair I just cant help but want to cry at myself because of how washed out I look now

Yeah, mine came out black at the roots even though they sent golden brown. This has never happened with them before.

It also would not rinse out and is still gummy and waxy. Very unhappy.

I had the same problem with eSalon color not rinsing out. I've been told its because the color is in a gel-base. I've also been told the lab is working on creating a creme-based formula, but that was 6 months ago and it still isn't available.

you are supposed to keep a small amount and shampoo with it.. READ THE DIRECTIONS.

Poor grey root coverage and hair fell out

I used the esalon product for the first time after coloring my roots with a store product for the past 10 years. I have medium brown, long hair and touch up my roots at home, in between salon appointments.

The product did a poor job of coloring my roots. Worse yet, my hair was excessively falling out when I combed it while it was wet, and when I used my regular brush to dry and style it. 3 weeks later I continue to have excessive hair loss when I brush, and I am concerned I'm going to end up with very thin hair.

I contacted esalon about the color and the hair falling out and they offered to update the color for my next order. They did not acknowledge the hair loss was a problem. I requested to cancel my subscription. awaiting confirmation that they are doing this.

Don't use this product! It is very harmful to your hair.

I paid for semi-permanent color. They sent 2 bottles. One for roots one for ends. I used the one for ends. Because I could tell that they had put too much brown in the first bottle. Well hair turned out too dark. But the violet was perfect until I washed my hair the second time when the majority of the violet washed out ( I used their shampoo). Did they honor their guarantee. No. No money back. They offered to send new color. But since my hair is too dark now. I know that I cannot color it again to make it lighter. (Semi permanemt needs a month of washes to get back to normal.). So yeah I'm not happy. Don't waste your money. Oh and their conditioner made my hair very oily- couldn't even go through the whole day without oil slick on my head.

There was a very pretty color i seen and wanted but too many bad reviews about gummy, loss hair and washing out the color so im going to say no to this. i was so excited and wished it worked.

I tried esalon for the first and last time. The concept is impressive but the color was definitely not! The beige blonde color had a brassiness to it that I was trying to avoid. Their enclosed shampoo /conditioner left my hair waxy looking and feeling despite several hair washings. There was also a terrible dullness to my hair, which has always had a sheen to it with other boxed dyes. Looks like ill be sticking to L'Oréal in the future.

Not what I hoped for

Received my product as ordered. Followed the strand test & was happy with the result so I proceeded to color my hair following directions as listed. When time was up used the shampoo and conditioner included in box (note...neither was close to enough for thick hair). Once done I combed my hair & noticed it felt funny. Woke up next day & my hair felt like I didn't get all the conditioner out...it greasy & nasty...I thought I'll just wash it with my salon shampoo and conditioner... let it dry after & a few hours later it still felt greasy & nasty. Consulted my niece who is a hair dresser & sent her a picture. She told me it sounded & looked like the solution may have fried my hair... not at all what I expected. She advised I get a deep conditioner on it & see if that helps. Went to my local store searching for a deep conditioner, found one & proceeded to follow those directions. It feels better but still not what it was. Contacted the company & am awaiting a reply. I did cancel my auto-ship & we will see what the company has to say...I highly doubt I'll purchase again...

Horrible, gummy mess, though I followed all instructions. Phone rep sweetly sympathetic and no help at all.

She made it sound like it was somehow my fault, not a product fault. The other negative reviews on this site. Are me feel lucky I did not damage my hair further. It took at least 7 shampoos to get hair back to normal.

On the weekend of a family reunion - for which I wanted to look my best. Give me Loreal or any grocery store hair dye!!

Sometimes our highly pigmented professional-grade gel color can feel heavy if not totally washed out per the Personalized Instructions. If this happens, it may require a little bit more shampooing than other color. A nice, vigorous head massage before rinsing the color out usually does the trick.

I had the same problems. Color too dark and i cannot wash out the dye. I am walking around with horrible smelling unmanageable hair.

If her color is too dark and you send a lighter color how will that work? Color doesn't lift color and she won't be able to get the blonde if her hair is too dark.

While color does not have the ability to lift color, there is a way to gradually lighten and/or fade previously colored hair until the clients desired color is achieved. The color is only so so. But the conditioner given to use after it's so waxy no amount of rinsing helps. I had to wash my hair just to get it out. Will not be ordering again.

I have been coloring my hair since I was 15 and am now 45. I've used MANY products over the years and none of them had the chemical reaction like esalon did on my hair.

I followed the directions as explained to the T and made it to the rinse stage. I applied some water and massaged...but then the color literally turned into CEMENT! Waxy and hard! I didn't panic because I know the more you rub, the more likely the product will pull, so I immediately applied the minuscule amount of shampoo they provided, which helped break down the waxy substance.

I rinsed. And then had to apply my own shampoo to rinse. Then repeated (now 3 times) and rinsed. No lie, this stuff was coming out in CHUNKS.

When I thought I had it all out, I got out and started towel drying. Lo behold, MORE buildup was still in there and I had to jump back in to shampoo for a fourth time! What the heck??? I am NO novice at this and after reading reviews, I now see this is an issue for many.

Now that it's rinsed, my hair is heavy, dull and still feels weird. I will say the color is nice tho... lol.

Cancelling and moving onto the other online brand. STAY AWAY!

I also used E Salon's *** products. My hair has felt incredibly dry and I have been losing massive amounts of hair since using it ( which has been a month ago now).

No fake apology or refund, for that matter, will make up for the distress this has caused. I have cried and been physically sick because of this.

How about you replace my hair? DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS!

Getting recharged for a hair color

Back in May esalon sent another hair color and charged it to my charge card. Well I didn't want it so I sent it back and I was credited that money back to my account.

Today June 30 2017 my charge card account was recharged for $24.95 around May 15. I am not happy at all how can you charge me for hair color which was returned,I believe you should put the money back to my charge card or I will call B.B.B.

Terrible Results

I had never used a hair dye and was apprehensive about changing my hair, but when I saw the stellar reviews of eSalon, I thought it would be fun to try. I regret ever doing it.

I picked a cool beige, dark blonde. They emailed me saying they thought medium blonde cook beige would be a better fit. I had already mentioned that my hair tends to turn orange in the sun, and that I generally hate orange. Well, the first application wasn't ANYTHING like the color I expected- to the point that I showed my boyfriend the color on the eSalon sight and he laughed.

It was copper at best, and orange at worst. I was also left with a terrible waxy residue. I contacted eSalon and they offered to mix a new bottle for me, for free. Already turned off by the poor results, I simply said that I wanted to return to my natural color, and get the orange out of my hair.

The stylist said she would put a neutralizer and an ash in the light brown color. When the new product arrived I was supsicious because on the phamplet that says what is in the bottle, there was just a neutralizer, no ash. After dying my hair, it is closer to my original color, but is STILL copper tinted! This copper tint is the thing I wanted to get rid of, and all what the new product did was make it darker.

There is also once again a waxy residue in my hair,despite shampooing throughly with the shampoo packet.

I fully plan on contacting eSalon during their (very limited) business hours to request a refund, but $10 won't even put a dent in how much it would cost to get a corrective color, so I'm stuck with this awful color until it grows out. While all the customer service reps were nice, I feel like I wasn't listened too, like I now hate my hair, and regret ever using their products.

i have used it twice and wish I had not tried it a second time. It leaves a tar-like hardish gel(?) on your hair which is harder to remove than peanut butter. The reason I did use it again is that after the many days of washing and rinsing and washing and rinsing I found that the color actually adhered to my scalp better than some other hair color products. But before that time, be prepared t look and feel like one of those abandoned dogs that needs to be rescued from the street and given a new start. I would suggest that the old adage applies: fooled me once, shame on you; fooled me twice, shame on me!

Tried out the hair dye and after finishing hair felt like glue, rewashed hair 3 times now and only just starting to feel better. Awful stuff never again will i buy from the internet.
